Ronan Glennane worked for 15 years in marketing and later as Irish head of theatrical distribution for Entertainment, Rank, and Polygram. In that time he was responsible for over 100 titles including ‘Four Weddings, Gangs of New York, The Mask, Seven, Shawshank Redemption, LOTR trilogy. In 2000 he produced his first ultra low budget feature ‘Peaches’ starring Matthew Rhys, Kelly Reilly, Eddie Masan and Sophie Okonedo. In 2006 he co-wrote, produced and directed another low budget indie ‘Pride and Joy’ (Owen Roe, Rory Keenan) which RTE acquired, screening it to a 20% audience share. It was also nominated for Monte Carlo best TV film. In 2010 he originated and co wrote the $10 million Australian mini series ‘False Witness’ starring Dougray Scott and Richard Roxburgh for BBC world.
During Covid Ronan set up a new film and TV production banner Bleak Mid Winter, which specialises in scripted sports drama. He co owns Genre Leigh Productions with actress Kara Tointon in the UK and has other business interests in sports tech.
